The problem

A billion-dollar problem.

Water damage is the most frequent and costly form of property loss.

Prevention is the cure. The shift starts now.

Preventative, not reactive

Most properties respond only after visible damage. By then water has already moved into walls, floors and structure — a minor issue becomes a major claim.

Time drives severity

Every minute a leak runs unattended raises the cost. Minutes and hours matter — yet most systems still rely on chance discovery.

Built around repair

Insurers and owners are pushed into expensive remediation because detection and a coordinated response are missing from the front end.

Premium economics

Storms make the news. Water leaks drive the loss ratio.

Escape of liquid is the biggest non-catastrophe claim line in every Australian home book. AquaSentinel cuts it — claim by claim.

Every escape-of-liquid claim we prevent is one that — never reaches your loss ratio.

And it compounds: every sensor added is another home monitored and another leak caught early — so the more of the book that runs on AquaSentinel, the further the loss ratio bends, year on year.

The solution

Prevention is the shift.

Water protection has always started after the damage. AquaSentinel starts before it begins.

One detection layer. One platform. Many local responders.

How it works

Three channels.
One platform.

AquaSentinel covers three intake channels — a leak can be flagged by the sensor, by the insurer, or by the homeowner. Same engine. Same outcome.

Channel one · Sensor

Sensor alert

A leak is detected at the home — we dispatch a tradie before the claim is even lodged.

Channel two · Insurer

Make-safe & ZDR

An insurer emails us an emergency make-safe — we dispatch, contain it, and return a ZDR the same day.

📱
Channel three · Consumer

Quotes & Repairs

A homeowner requests a repair or quote in the app — we surface two or three nearby plumbers and coordinate the job, one platform.

Three ways in. One platform. From alert to repair.

The hardware

A sensor under any fixture or high-leak area.

Sits where water shouldn't be — sinks, basements, plant & pool rooms, roof zones. 5-year battery. $10/mo, no lock-in.

Every unit is a live node on the AquaSentinel network — the moment it sees water, the platform does too.

Sensor sits where leaks happen first — flush against the cabinet floor under the P-trap.
Who it's for

Four audiences. One platform.

Homeowners, neighbours, licensed plumbers, and insurers each get their own role — and their own reason to be here. A single shared event chat ties them together.

Homeowners

A response, not an alarm.

  • Simultaneous alert to you and a licensed plumber — first to accept attends.
  • One shared chat with plumber, neighbour and dispatcher — not seven phone calls.
  • Insurance-ready log of timestamps, photos and resolution from second one.
  • Five-year battery, $10/month per home — no lock-in contract.
Neighbours

Eyes on, mains off.

  • Pre-authorised by the homeowner as an emergency contact — no surprise alerts.
  • Notified when no one's home — can let the plumber in or shut the mains.
  • Same shared chat as the homeowner and the plumber — full context, no guessing.
  • Network effect — every protected home pulls a neighbour into the platform.
Licensed Plumbers

Dispatch, not cold leads.

  • First-to-accept dispatch from the sensor network — no bidding, no chasing.
  • Local radius only, configured by you. No out-of-area drive times.
  • Paid per job — no platform fee, no subscription.
  • Photo + mains location in chat before you arrive.
Insurers

Fewer claims. Smaller claims.

  • Frequency & severity of water claims drop across a monitored portfolio.
  • Tiered reporting — weekly, daily, per-event — on your terms.
  • White-labelled at the surface, fully managed underneath.
  • Renewal & acquisition lever — bundle into new policies.
The flow

The Network responds.

One flow — from alert to a claim-ready ZDR, same day. Three ways in, one system.

1 Start
A job comes in

A sensor detects a leak, an insurer emails a make-safe, or a homeowner reports it.

2 Dispatch
We send the plumber

The system auto-sends the nearest plumber. No phone tag.

3 Make-safe
Damage stopped

Plumber attends — water off, damage contained, in minutes.

4 Report
Result, same day

A claim-ready ZDR lands in the insurer's inbox.

No phone tag. No portal. Same-day result.

The stack

The tech stack.

Boring infrastructure under the hood — on purpose. Managed AWS, one region, one database, one queue. The complexity lives in the data, not the plumbing.

Cloud · AWS Sydney
  • ap-southeast-2 — data resident in Australia
  • Aurora Postgres for OLTP, S3 for archive
  • AWS IoT Core + Lambda for telemetry
  • SNS for SMS, push and dispatch
  • Cognito for identity, MFA-ready
Apps · Native iOS
  • SwiftUI — one codebase, three apps
  • Consumer, Plumber, Owner roles
  • Push + SMS guaranteed delivery
  • Offline tolerant — local-first state
  • HomeKit + Tuya sensor compat
Compliance · Day One
  • Australian Privacy Principles aligned
  • Immutable audit log on alerts & valves
  • Encrypted at rest + in transit (KMS, TLS)
  • SOC 2 trajectory — logging built first
  • Tenant isolation by account_id, every query
Insurer-grade security

Built to your standards. APRA-aligned.

Security isn't a bolt-on — it's the substrate. Aligned to the standards your risk and security teams already audit against, so we pass review before the pilot, not after.

Data residency
All data stays in Australia (AWS Sydney). No cross-border replication.
APRA CPS 234
Designed to support your CPS 234 information-security obligations.
Encryption + keys
AES-256 at rest, TLS in transit. Customer-managed keys (BYOK) on enterprise.
Per-carrier isolation
Each carrier's data is logically isolated — yours alone.
Forensic audit trail
Append-only audit log — defensible chain of custody for fraud / AFCA. Immutable WORM ledger on the roadmap.

Pass your security review before the pilot — not after.

The dataset

The data is the product.

Every alert, make-safe, quote and dispatch adds to a living dataset —
prevention intelligence
no insurer's own claims data can produce.

What It Gives Underwriting
  • · Fewer, smaller claims — leaks caught and contained early
  • · A verified record on every incident — timeline and valve trail
  • · Prevention as a renewal lever — risk you can model, not just cover

We feed your existing systems — we don't replace them.

Reporting pack

Reports you don't get today.

Live sensor and make-safe data, turned into portfolio intelligence your own claims data can't produce.

AquaSentinel ZDR · New

AquaSentinel ZDR

Zero Day Report.

ZDR is a claim-ready Zero Day Report
for every sensor alert and make‑safe.
In the carrier's inbox the same day the alert fires or the plumber attends — photos, timeline, costings, audit trail.

01 · The deliverable

Same day, every dispatch

Make‑safe lands at makesafe@aquasentinel.pro; closeout packet hits the carrier's inbox before the tradie's day ends. Reserves release earlier; NPS lifts on time-to-resolution.

02 · Workforce_Care

Timely make‑safe by design

Live location + field analytics pick the right tradie, ETA and job duration. The Available toggle becomes a conversation: “working all week, off Friday school pickup”.

03 · Memory

Knows your tradies

Response times, accept rates, suburb history, job-type fit, duration. Builds long-term memory of every tradie and routes work to the one whose record says “this is your job”.

Make‑safe email Workforce_Care dispatch Tradie attends ZDR same day

Same‑day reports. Smarter dispatch. Closeout cycle measured in hours, not weeks.

Onboarding

Tradies. Verified.

Every role is set up once — but trades pass a strict verification gate (licence, insurance, background checks) so only verified, quality plumbers ever attend a customer's property.

The ask

How we partner with you — the pilot.

A focused pilot in Victoria's highest-risk water-damage areas — prove the response time and the loss-ratio impact on your own book.

Where

Highest-risk areas, VIC first

Older suburbs, inner-east and bayside, high-density apartments, and growth corridors built on flexi hoses — starting in Victoria, built to expand.

What we need

Your claims data

Your top 20 escape-of-liquid postcodes (frequency + severity) and a claims heat map — so we deploy where the losses actually are.

What you get

Days → minutes

Response compressed from days to minutes, lower claim severity, and a measurable loss-ratio improvement — each closed with a same-day ZDR.

Pilot unit at $850 (negotiable to $750)embed it in the policy and offset it with premium reductions over 3–4 years. The return is a lower loss ratio, every year it runs.

One pilot. Measured in response time and loss ratio.

Who we are

Three founders. One company.

A builder, a plumber, and a software engineer — together. The three trades the network actually needs.

Michael Seletto

Owner of Prize Plumbing. Two decades on the tools across residential and commercial books. Knows every common failure mode — flexible hose, dishwasher inlet, corroded copper joint — and what it costs the homeowner when nobody notices for five hours. Runs the plumber-network side.

Brad Thompson

Twenty-five years in residential construction. Current Director of Hotondo Homes Gold Coast and Tweed Heads. Has led a large insurance builder, rebuilding hundreds of Australian homes — including the ones that flooded at 3 a.m. He's been on the wrong end of a water-damage call-out enough times to know the fix isn't a louder beep. AquaSentinel was his idea.

Christopher Marinelli

Managing director of an engineering firm. 30 years in technology strategic and program-level management — across telecommunications, education, and now grid-scale renewables. Hands-on with the AquaSentinel build: the iOS apps, the AWS dispatch backend, and the sensor integration. Brings the operating discipline that takes a pilot to an international rollout.
